Jeronimo DaSilva, 86, of New Bedford died Sunday June 21, 2015 suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Auxilia (Fernandes) DaSilva.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Domingos and Domingas (Alves) DaSilva, he had resided in New Bedford since 1954.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. DaSilva was formerly employed as a chef aboard sea-going tugboats for Moran Towing Corporation until his retirement.
He was a member of the Bisca Tournament Club.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Daniel DaSilva and his wife Nancy of Fairhaven and Delores Azevedo of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Kellen Azevedo and his wife Christine, Julian Azevedo, Jerome DaSilva, and Nathan DaSilva; and a great-granddaughter, Aria Azevedo.
He was the brother of the late Juvina and Frank DaSilva.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
