John P. Brady, Jr, of Medford, a retired Detective with the Medford Police Department passed away on Thursday, June 18th. He was 74. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late John P. and Annie (Cadman) Brady. John served for 41 years as a detective with the Medford Police Department. Respected for his integrity and professionalism, John was often called upon to assist with cases for the Massachusetts State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A graduate of Northeastern University and Anna Maria College, John worked during his retirement as a Court Investigator for the Boston Juvenile Court and was often consulted to review cold cases.

The beloved husband of Mary (Cammarata) Brady of Medford, he was a devoted father to Patricia Brady of Medford. He is also survived by the apples of his eye, grandchildren: Matthew Ciarcia and his family Melissa Laurentano and Jaxon Ciarcia; David Ciarcia and Jacquelyn Ciarcia. John was enamored of his first great-grandson Jaxon and will watch over him and an expected baby boy due in September. The brother of Elizabeth Dixon of Stoneham, Joan Desaulniers of Virginia, Rosemary Brady of Woburn and the late Winnifred Brady, he leaves many nieces and a nephew.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Saturday, June 27 from 9-10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM.
