New Bedford – Jose Luis Peixoto “Little Joe" "Machado”, age 52 of New Bedford, passed away, unexpectedly, on Friday June 19, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in Ribeira Quente, Azores, Mr. Peixoto moved to this country in 1982, was the son of the late Conceicao (Couto) and Joao Melo Peixoto and worked as a fish cutter for many years.
His family includes 5 siblings: Joao Carlos Peixoto and his wife, Graca, of Toronto, Canada, Margarida Sousa and her husband, George, of New Bedford, Madalena Leite and her husband, Antonio, of Dartmouth, Ana Paula Goncalo and her husband, Luis, of New Bedford and Delia Moreira and her husband, Emanuel, of Dartmouth; as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Thursday, June 25 beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 9 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
