TRAUB, Rachael S. Of Somerville, formerly of Needham, passed away June 14, 2015. Beloved partner of Nancy Goode, daughter of Elanah (Marsha) and Arthur (deceased) of Mashpee, sister of Daniel and his wife Evelyn Starr of Natick, aunt of A.J. and Fiona Traub of Natick, niece of Helen Kolsky of Brookline and of Fred and Judy Traub of Lake Worth, FL.
Rachael was a graduate of Syracuse University and of The New York Restaurant School. She worked for many years preparing food on yachts, in restaurants and for catered events, most recently as an Event Chef for Baker’s Best. She was Director of Shared Services at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education and managed the state’s education website for K-12 since 1999.
Rachael played as ardently as she worked, and frequently enjoyed outings with friends to listen to music, to share a meal at a restaurant or to unwind with a drink after work. Her hobbies included golf, fantasy sports leagues, online games and reality TV.
Services to be held at the Arts at the Armory, 11 a.m. on Monday June 22, 191 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143. Memorial observances, Tuesday June 23 from 4-8p.m. and Wednesday June 24 from 4-8p.m. at her Somerville residence.
