In Taunton, June 17, 2015 Mary F. Colton, Age 97, passed away in Morton Hospital, following a brief period of failing health. Mary was the loving wife of the late Charles Colton. Mary was born in Boston, the daughter of the late George & Annie (Walsh) McGrane. She has resided in Taunton since 1946 and was formerly of Foxboro. Mary was employed as an attendant at the Wrentham State School before she married, and later as the hairdresser, first at Walnut Lodge, part of Foxboro State Hospital, and then at Taunton State Hospital. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Churches Women’s Guild and the Queens Daughters. Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles but above all cherished her time with family especially her loving grand and great grandchildren. Mary leaves her children Charlotte Murphy and her husband Charles of New Haven, CT. and John Colton and his late wife Maureen of Taunton. She also leaves her grandchildren Brian Murphy and his wife Paige of N.Y.C., Kathleen Galo and her husband Carlos of New Haven, CT., Ryan Colton and his wife Brittany of Taunton. She also leaves her great grandchildren Tanner and Blaise Murphy and Grady Colton and Joaquin Galo. Mary was preceded in death by her brother Thomas McGrane. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, June 24th at 10 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton
