Augusta, GA - Mrs. Merrell Wooddall Garner, 76, went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 14, 2015.
Merrell devoted her life to caring for her husband and family and was a godly example of a wife and mother. She also had a life-long love for animals (particularly dogs, cats, and horses) and enjoyed traveling with her family.
Merrell is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Garner; four sons, Jim Garner,Frank Garner (Gloria), Clark Garner (Joy), Bill Garner, and one daughter, Merrell Garner; seven grandchildren, Jamie Garner, John-Michael Garner, Anna Sams (Adam), Katy Garner, Breanna Garner, Olegs Garner, and Aleks Garner; and two sisters, Frances Talmadge (Marion) and Martha Thornhill (Edwin).
A service will be held Wednesday, June 17 at 10 A.M. at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904. Family and friends are welcome to gather immediately following the service at the home of Clark and Joy Garner, 3059 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30909.
