Carmela (Vicari) Laskowski passed away peacefully at the Bear Hill Nursing Center. She was 84. Born and raised in East Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Constance (Schillachi) Vicari. A Medford resident for her adult life, Carmela lived for the past few years at Bright View Country Club Heights in Woburn. For 32 years she worked lovingly at the St. Raphael School Cafeteria. She enjoyed watching generations of children grow up and is famously remembered for giving out extra portions of food.

The beloved wife of the late Chester Laskowski, she was a devoted mother to Anna Murphy of Belmont, Joseph Laskowski and his wife Susan of Medford, Lisa Sweetser and her husband Bruce of Arlington. She was a loving grandmother to Amy Griffin and her husband Rich, Nicholas Sweetser, Sean Murphy, Declan Murphy and Shauna Laskowski. She was a dear sister to Gaetano Vicari and the late Stella DiCarlo.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, June 17th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday 4 – 8 PM.
