Carlos G Costa, age 66 of Fairhaven, MA passed away on Tuesday, June 9, at home surrounded by his family. Carlos was born in Portugal, and he and his wife Nancy Ann were married for 26 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
Mr. Costa was an employee of Design Mark, Inc. for over 25 years. He was a graphic artist and obtained his Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from Swain School. Carlos was an excellent artist who painted many beautiful pictures and enjoyed designing and drawing his own Christmas card every year for family and friends. Carlos won many Art awards throughout his life.
Mr. Costa was a US Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Fairhaven Varsity Club and he enjoyed traveling, playing Poker, Pool, painting and creating wonderful art work.
Mr. Costa is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann (Longworth, Leger) Costa of Fairhaven, one son, Jason M. Costa, and his wife Stephanie, of New Bedford, two stepsons, Jamie R. Leger and Aaron A. Leger and his wife, Heidi, all of Fairhaven, two sisters, Margie Gottsleben of Tucson, AZ, and Paula Pond, of Fairhaven, four Grandchildren, Brielle Ann, Brynn Marie, Katelynn and Kyle and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also the brother of the late David Jacintho and the late Abel Jacintho, Jr. Carlos is the son of the late Olga C. Costa Jacintho, and the late Carlos Alexander Costa. He was also the stepson of the late Abel Jacintho Sr.
Carlos was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial mass which will be held at Saint Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven on Saturday June 20 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of his life at the Century House in Acushnet immediately following the mass.
