New Bedford–Carolina A. Sylvia, age 94, passed away on Tuesday June 9, 2015 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Albert E. Sylvia and the daughter of the late Gertrude (Anjos) and John J. Serra.
Born in New Bedford, Mrs. Sylvia was employed as a Bookkeeper for Amalgamated Clothing Worker’s Union for many years until her retirement.
Her surviving family includes a son, Barry E. Sylvia, and his wife, Beatrice of New Bedford; grandchildren: Branden E. Sylvia and Dr. Lisa M. Sylvia O’Connell; great granddaughters, Enara Grace O’Connell and Charlotte L. Sylvia.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. Services are omitted. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740
