Obituary

FALL RIVER, MA … Louis H. Gorton, 92, of Fall River passed away June 3, 2015 at St. Anne’s Hospital.
He was the widower of Lillian (Taylor) Gorton.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late James C. and Maude (Smith) Gorton.
Mr. Gorton was the owner of the former Gorton Fish & Chips Restaurant in Fall River and was also employed at the Naval Underwater Systems Center, retiring in 1987 after 24 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during W.W.II. Louis was a Master Mason and a member of the King Philip Lodge A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed gardening, working with wood and his family.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Beacon Hospice for the care they provided.
Survivors include a son: James T. Gorton and his wife Lisa of Fall River, 2 grandchildren: Thomas R. Sr. and Garret L. Gorton, 1 great grandchild: Thomas R. Gorton, Jr., several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Leonard Gorton, James Gorton Jr., Deborah Harding, and Dorothy McLeod.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River, MA. Calling hours will be Monday 5 - 8 PM. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis’ name can be made to Beacon Hospice, 182 N. Main St. Fall River, MA 02720.
