Obituary

Gilford, NH-----Allan B. Partridge, Jr. 87, of Dockham Shore Road, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Presidential Oaks Nursing Home, Concord.

Allan was born May 29, 1927 in Worcester, MA the son of Allan B. and Annie W. (Waugh) Partridge, Sr. He grew up in Durham, NH where his father was a professor of Ancient, Medieval, Latin American and English Histories at the University of New Hampshire for 46 years.

Allan attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute; he graduated from The University of New Hampshire with a Geology degree and received his Master’s Degree in Library Science from Case Western Reserve. He enjoyed a wonderful career for 30 years as a Research Librarian at United Technologies in E. Hartford, CT. Allan also served in the US Army in Labrador, a Canadian province of Newfoundland.

Over the years he was a member of the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Club, Habitat for Humanity and The Sea Dragons Scuba Diving Club among others. Allan loved music, sang in various choirs, and played the piano & organ.

Allan was a success in many areas. A very intelligent, civilized man with a thirst for knowledge and a phenomenal memory. He was genuinely kindhearted, as well as, an excellent father and devoted husband. His life touched so many, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine “Kay” (Agentowicz) Partridge; a son, Charles Partridge and his wife Terri, their daughters, Marjorie, Ashley and Angela; a daughter, Diane Partridge and her son, Samuel Laneri; a stepdaughter Delores Sargent and her husband Dick; a stepson Glenn Banach and his wife Joyce, their children, Matthew Banach and wife Teresa, Elsa and her husband Devan Giesbrecht, Emily and her husband Ryan Jantz and six great grand-children.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH, using the Carriage House entrance.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00am at the Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH.

A Reception will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 12:30pm – 2:30pm, at the Elks Club, 17 Sugarbush Lane, Gilford, NH.

Burial will be private.
