Obituary

HAVERHILL: Robert E. Grover, 65, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Genesis Healthcare in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Baillargeon) Grover.
Born in Haverhill on September 17, 1949, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (David) Grover. He was a lifelong resident of Haverhill.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. A Purple Heart recipient, he was injured during active duty and was honorably discharged on June 26, 1968. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, National Order of Trench Rats, V.F.W. Post #29, William M. Comeau Post #4 American Legion, Marine Corps League, Devil Dogs and the Purple Heart Organization. He enjoyed spending time on his computer, cooking, especially for the holidays and loved to spend time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Samantha Cole and her husband, John; two sons, Frank Spates and Jamie Spates and his wife, Andrea; three grandchildren, Damien Cole, Riley Spates and Ali Spates; two brothers, Timothy Grover and Steven Grover; one sister, Anna Jones and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by four brothers, William, John, Michael and Donald Grover and two sisters, Patricia Beckett and Agnes Littlefield.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Interment will be in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
