NEW BEDFORD… Jeannette R. (Berger) Ballard, 94, of New Bedford passed away June 3, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
She was wife of the late Harold Ballard.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Angelina (Lamarre) Berger and had lived most of her life in Fall River before moving to New Bedford in 2012..
Mrs. Ballard enjoyed caring for her beloved parakeet “Pal” and talking with her friends from the neighborhood.
Survivors include her daughter: Joyce Ballard of New Bedford, her great granddaughter Ashley Paige Lessa of Dartmouth, her beloved sister-in-law: Germaine Berger of Fall River and 2 nephews: Donald and Daniel Berger, both of Fall River. She was mother of the late Russell Ballard, sister of the late Albert Berger and grandmother of the late Lisa Lessa.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 9 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeannette’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
