Mr. Michael Mulcahy, a resident of Malden, formerly of Medford and Boston, passed away on Friday morning, May 29, 2015, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 60 years old.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, on November 16, 1954, he was the beloved son of the late John W. and Jean C. (Verrengia) Mulcahy. Michael was a graduate of Medford High School and Mass Bay Community College. He worked as an LPN at the Glen Ridge Nursing Center in Malden for many years. Michael had a special gift and used that gift to care for Alzheimer’s patients at Glen Ridge. He was very humorous and a loyal family member and friend. In his spare time, Michael was an avid collector of antique items and enjoyed making stained glass pieces. He loved traveling, going to the beach, and enjoyed gardening around his home. Above all, Michael was devoted to his many family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Patricia I. and her husband Henry J. White of Tewksbury; Richard J. and his wife Margaret Mulcahy of Medford; Steven J. Mulcahy of Malden; Laurie A. and her husband Joseph D. Mastone of Tewksbury; Christine and her husband Michael R. Vinci of Salem, New Hampshire; the late Jeanne Nielson; and the late John R. Mulcahy. He is also survived by his beloved uncle Richard Verrengia and his wife Beverly of Rockport; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
His memorial service will be celebrated at the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 4 PM – 8 PM.
