Obituary

BEVERLY: Louis Gallo, 93, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Center. He was the husband of Jill D. (Consalvo) Gallo.
Born in Swampscott on December 15, 1921, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Fiorinda (Chianconne) Gallo. He had resided in Swampscott for many years before moving to Florida, where he resided in Naples and St. Augustine for several years. He moved to Beverly in 2012. A U.S. Army veteran of World War Two, he was honorably discharged in February 1946
Louis served the Town of Swampscott as its building inspector for twenty years before his retirement in 1999. He had also co-owned and operated, along with his brother, Al, the P.F. Gallo & Sons Construction Company in Swampscott and Gallo and Consalvo Construction Company for several years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Vadala and her husband, Robert; three step-children, Joy Wilbar, Paul Commito and his wife Deborah and Michael Commito; two grandchildren, Meredith Vadala and Thomas Vadala and his wife, Eliete; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Hussey, Catherine Hussey, Thomas Vadala, Jr. and Isabella Vadala and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by daughter, Arlene Gallo, his first wife, Catherine (Murphy) Gallo, two brothers, Joseph and Alphonse Gallo and two sisters, Louise Chippola and Nancy Gallo.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 11th in St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
