Passed away peacefully on May 25, 2015. Preceded in death by father Arthur Phillips and step-father Gilbert Kirchner. Survived by husband of 55 years, Richard; son Daniel (Margaret); grandsons Joshua & Benjamin; mother Alvina Kirchner; siblings Sharon Strate (Richard), Linda Frank (Dale), David Kirchner (Karen) & Thomas Kirchner (Norma); nieces, nephews and friends. Jan was a multi-talented woman who succeeded at anything she tried. She enjoyed 40 years of "Cabin Life" on big Pine Lake in Aitkin County, MN. She also was a big supporter of the Civil War Trust Fund and traveled to every site. Jan was a loving & devoted mother & grandmother who loved to travel, especially to Virginia to visit her sons family; Dan, Marg & grandsons Josh & Ben plus many dear friends. Service Wednesday (6/3) at 11:00 am at ST. MARK'S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2499 Helen St., North St. Paul (Door 7W) with visitation one hour before the service. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to The Civil War Trust in her name. Jan had many good friends who loved her so much and I am sure Heaven will be shining with laughter and fun by her presence.
