Obituary

Virginia Ann Petrone, 82, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Cedar Crest Rehabilitation Center in Cranston. She was the mother of John Petrone and his wife, Tracey of Cumberland and Nancy Nasser and her husband, George of Cranston. She was the loving and dedicated Nana of Jordan and Ashley Nasser of Cranston and Stephen Petrone of Cumberland, who were the light of her life.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Serafino and Mary (Furtado) Piccirillo. She had lived in Johnston before moving to Cranston.

She is also survived by her siblings: Peter Piccirillo of Mansfield, TX, Angelina Mathewson of Cranston, William Piccirillo of Little River, SC and Helen Greene of Cranston. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Edward Piccirillo. She was also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Virginia enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed her time playing cards with her sisters and was a sensational chef!

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Dialysis Center of Johnston, 1526 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
