Robert W. Marshall, age 84, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich.
He was the beloved husband of the late Cecelia M. (Rei) Marshall, to whom he was wed for nearly 52 years at the time of her death on September 10, 2007.
Born in Attleboro, MA on September 24, 1930, he was a dear son of the late Manuel J. and Clara E. (Weber) Marshall. He grew up and was educated in Attleboro
Prior to retiring, Mr. Marshall had worked for over 30 years as a Bus Driver for H & L Bloom in Taunton.
A resident of Norton for over 50 years, Bob was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and when younger, served as a cook in the United States Army National Guard.
Bob loved spending time with his adoring family, especially with his grandchildren; which included teaching them how to fish.
He also enjoyed watching western movies on television, former traveling trips taken with his late wife Cecelia, and will always be remembered for his exceptional cooking and baking skills.
He is survived by his devoted daughters: Joyce L. Marshall of Norton and Cindy A. MacDonald and her husband George, Sr. of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Nicole MacDonald, George MacDonald, Jr. and Krystal MacDonald all of Norton. He was the dear brother of Jorge Cota-Weber of Honduras, Minnie Marshall and Mildred Salley both of Florida, John Marshall of Canada and the late Joseph Marshall and Manuel “Donald” Marshall. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, June 1st at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 31st from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
