Obituary

R. “Kevin” Hunt, 66, a resident of Londonderry since 1983, passed away, Friday, May 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, following a period of failing health. Kevin was born in Framingham, MA, son of Fred E. Hunt and Lorraine V. Hunt. He and his wife, Patricia, lived together in Londonderry for 18 years. He retired in 2005 as an advertising/sales executive, and remained an active member of his community, as a friend, mentor and coach. He will be sorely missed as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and “grampy”
Kevin spent his youth and was schooled in Dalton, MA, where he was actively engaged in football, baseball, basketball and track and field, graduating in 1966. He was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Dalton, MA in the 1950s and 60s. Kevin graduated from Doane College in Nebraska, 1971. Between 1970 and 1979, Kevin was an NFL offensive lineman, initially drafted by the Green Bay Packers, and playing most of his career for the Houston Oilers before his final year with the New Orleans Saints. He was twice drafted by the Minnesota Twins, first in his senior year of high school and later in his senior year of college. He was predeceased by his father Fred “Ted” E. Hunt, who died January 11, 2014 and his mother Lorraine V. Hunt, March 30, 2015, both of Tilton; and by a brother, Fred “Teddy” E. Hunt Jr. of Berwick, ME October 22, 2007.
His surviving family includes his wife, Patricia D’Avella of Londonderry, NH, his brother Paul E. Hunt of West Grove, PA; daughters Kelley L. Hunt-Gay of Zionsville, IN, Amanda “Mandy” Jacobsen of East Hampton, CT, Hillary M. Hunt-Maxwell of Manchester, CT, and Gabriella D. Redmond of Londonderry, NH.; and seven grandchildren, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins across the country.
A gathering will be held for friends at the Peabody Funeral Home, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH, on Friday, June 5, 2015, between 5PM and 8PM. A private memorial will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the William F. Smart Sr. Funeral Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton NH.
