LACONIA - Jeanne L. Pochily, 52, of Laconia, NH died on Thursday, May 21, 2015. She was a long-time resident of the New Hampshire Lakes Region.
She was born in Woburn, MA, the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Ada (Morom) Banks. After graduating from Woburn Memorial High School in 1980, she moved to southern New Hampshire and began her working career while pursuing a college degree. After moving to Arizona with her first husband, Tim Hardy, she earned that degree in Accounting from Prescott College. Upon returning to New Hampshire she worked as an accountant at R.E. Reed & Co. in Laconia while earning her Masters in Finance at Bentley University. She was the Assistant Controller at Pike Industries in Belmont for several years before changing directions to become a Wealth Planner at Ballentine Partners in Wolfeboro for fifteen years. She was passionate about her career and her clients, many of whom she regarded as family.
Jeanne had a heart of gold and a smile for everyone. Everything she pursued, she did so with enthusiasm and spirit. She enjoyed skiing at Gunstock, hiking Mt. Major, and practicing yoga and meditation. When the friendship she had with Jeff Pochily blossomed into a relationship, she knew that her soulmate had been in front of her the whole time. They married several years later. Her happiness led her to become a Life Coach and teach other people how to become happy.
Jeanne will be sorely missed by her two nieces, Kimberly Zecher of North Reading, MA and Karen Lohrman and husband Steve of Wilmington, MA; her grandnieces and grandnephews Adam, Paige, Jason, Dylan, and Madison; her step-sons Jeffrey Pochily II and wife Nikki of Tucson, AZ and Jason Pochily of Portsmouth, NH; step-grandchildren Kenedy, Brock, Nick, Alex, Emerson, and Elliott; her brother Ed Banks of Stoneham, MA; and many more relatives and friends both near and far. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Judy Travers, and her beloved husband Jeff.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, May 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Rd, Gilford, NH with the Reverend Michael Graham officiating.
