Diemas Ferreira, age 83, of Swansea, passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Edna Ferreira, former husband of Dolores Ferreira, and son of the late Antonio and Maria (Farias) Ferreira. Diemas was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a supervisor at Avon Corrugated Box and Shawmut Metal. He enjoyed playing the guitar, exercising, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Beverly Medeiros (husband Charlie), Gail Boyd (husband Alan), Allen Ferreira, and Michael Ferreira (wife Andrea), stepchildren; Angel (wife Julie) and Eric Negron (fiancé Stephanie), sisters; Malvina Medeiros, and Virginia Cooper, grandchildren; Herman and Lindsey Medeiros, Ambrosia and Andrew Boyd, Gabriella and Charles Ferreira, step-grandchildren Amanda and Adrian Lewis and Alisha Landreth, great-grandchildren Charlotte, Noah and Finley Medeiros, step-great-grandchildren Benjamin and Caroline and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel, Sarah, Oliver, Gilbert, Tony and Joseph Ferreira, Delia Candeias, and Leonor "Tina" Souza. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital dedicated to the memory of Diemas.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on TUESDAY here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic’s Church at 9 A.M.
