Obituary

NATICK: Kathleen T. “Kay” Weber, age 83, died peacefully at her Natick home early Friday morning, May 22, 2015. She and her husband, James B. Weber, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Vivian M. (Doherty) Morrison. Kay was raised in Watertown and is a 1949 graduate of Watertown High School. She continued her education at Framingham State Teachers College, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, and taught second grade in Providence, RI.

Kay and Jim lived on the Weber family farm in Bridgewater, SD during their first year of marriage. They returned to Massachusetts and resided in Watertown prior to settling in Natick in 1957 where Kay maintained a warm and loving home for her family. Kay worked at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick for 47 years, retiring in 2008. She was also employed at Wellesley College for 20 years.

Kay had an infectious zest for life. She would think nothing of piling her five children in the car and heading off on week-long adventures, destination unknown. Kay had an active, inquiring mind and a love of education which she instilled in her children while encouraging them to dream big, reach for the stars, and do their best. Always kind and considerate of others, Kay had a great sense of humor and enjoyed dancing and holiday celebrations. Very family oriented, she especially loved being with Jim in the company of their large growing family.

Kay is survived by her husband Jim and their five children; Fay N. Cote of Groton, MA, Ellen M. Weber of Colonial Heights, VA, Paula J. Glod and her husband Douglas of East Greenwich, RI, James B. Weber and his wife Kate of Framingham, MA, and John A. Weber and his wife Aloris Query of Franklin, MA; eleven grandchildren, Renee M. (Cote) Wagner and her husband John, David M. Cote, Kevin M. Cote and his wife Jessica Sappier-Cote, Steven G. Cote, Brian D. Glod, Andrew J. Glod and his fiancée Megan E. Mick, Ellen J. Glod, Timothy J. Weber, Joseph P. Weber, Amelia K. Weber, and John T. Weber; six great-grandchildren, Kainen “Gunner” Cote, Zophya J. Givetz, Layne M. Wagner, Mahkai “Hunter” Cote, Emma L. Brown, and Mason D. Wagner. She is also survived by three sisters; Vivian Landis, Lorraine Hall, and Patricia St. John; three brothers, George Morrison and his wife Lois, Charles Morrison and his wife Ruth, and David Morrison and his wife Sharon; and many nieces and nephews. Kay was also the sister of the late Ralph Morrison and his wife Rita and Richard Morrison and his wife Nora; and the sister-in-law of the late Glen Landis, Edmund Hall, and Maurice St. John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Tuesday, May 26th at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
Visiting Hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Monday 4–7PM. All are welcome to share with the family in reciting the Rosary at the close of the wake.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay’s name to Parkinson’s research.
