Doris C. Rousseau, 97, of Woonsocket died Wednesday March 11, 2015 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph R. Rousseau.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Louis and Albina (Lemieux) Rousseau. She was a resident of North Smithfield for over 50 years before returning to Woonsocket.
Mrs. Rousseau worked at Uniroyal several years and was later employed at AT Cross for many years before retiring.
Doris loved to dance and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and bowling. Other hobbies included camping, fishing, cruises, trips to Cape Cod, and traveling throughout the United States and Canada.
She is survived by a son Edward Rousseau and wife, Celia, of Austin, Texas, a daughter Margaret “Maggie” Collard and her husband, Aldor, of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late William, Edward and Wilfred Rousseau, Irene Parent, Rhea, Alice, and Florence. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren Doreen Spink, Joseph and Michael Rousseau, Tina, Vincent Rousseau and Brenda, 18 great-grandchildren 12 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
