Elaine R. (Norris) Smith, age 84, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015.
Elaine is survived by her former husband and friend, Sherman L. Smith of Halifax, her children, Susan Smith and her husband Tim Racicot of Whitman, Steven Smith and his wife Carol of Abington and Sharlene Smith of Beaufort, SC, her brother Arthur Norris of Hingham and her sister, Jackie Murray of Weymouth. She also leaves her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Alia & Rod Schmidt and sons Gabriel, Michael, Noah and Samuel, Brian Goins and sons Gavin and Logan, Jesse Honea & Maureen Foley with Bianca and Jordan, SPC Cara Honea Alicea & Sgt Luis Alicea with Macayla Sweeney & Kalli Alicea, Nicholas and Melissa Smith, Jacquie & Steve Savoie with daughter Ryleigh, Jay Smith, Shantal Lambert with daughters Makenna & Madisyn and Joshua Smith. She also leaves behind a longtime friend, Donald Tupel of Weymouth. Her extended family consisted of Brenda Arinella of East Bridgewater and the late James Seisart formerly of Quincy.
Elaine was a lifelong resident of Weymouth belonged to the Idlewell Improvement Association and was a past member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Weymouth. She volunteered for Red Cross for many years.
Elaine was an Insurance Broker for Jordan Insurance Company for 35 years and was a member of Insurance Women of Massachusetts.
Family and friends are invited to the Visiting Hours at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday, May 25 from 4-8 pm and the Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26 at 10 am.
