Obituary

Loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, DANIEL KAY, SR. peacefully passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 surrounded by loved ones at Concord Memorial Hospital in Concord, NH.
Dan, or “Danny” as his wife Jean called him, was born in Boston, MA in 1938. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran who flew on the maritime patrol aircraft P2-V Neptune. After the Navy, Dan worked in the heating and air conditioning field for 30 years.
He and Jean settled in Walpole, MA where they raised two children, Andrea Nichols of Madison, WI (wife of Tom Nichols) and Dan Kay of Brookline, NH.
After retirement, Dan and Jean spent time in their Corvette “ENJOYIN” the back roads of New England with the Eastern Mass Corvette Club and spending time with their 2 children and 4 remarkable grandchildren (Anna and Reese both ages 5, Tessa age 3, and Jackson 4 months).
Dan and Jean spent some of their most recent and happiest days enjoying the warm sun and wonderful friends they made in Naples, FL and Gilmanton, NH. In his younger days, Danny enjoyed skiing with his family at Gunstock Resort in Gilford, NH, golfing, and loyally following Boston sports.
He was extremely proud of the fact he and Jean were able to provide an education and opportunities for their children which is a clear testament to the unselfish and endless sacrifices he made for his family.
The lighter side of Danny was reflected in his love for collecting antique toys and many PEZ dispensers that are proudly displayed in every room of their home. He was truly one-of-a-kind.
He and Jean celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary this month. He will be greatly missed.
Danny is also survived by his 2 brothers, Roger Kay of Moultonborough, NH and James Kay of Walpole, MA. He is predeceased by his parents James and Marjorie Kay of Portsmouth, NH and his sister Elizabeth Kay, also of Portsmouth, NH.
