FALL RIVER… Thaddeus A. Pietraszek, 93, of Barrington, RI passed away, May 21, 2015 following a brief illness.
He was the widower of Barbara (Bennett) Pietraszek.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Stanislaw and Karolina (Dziedzic) Pietraszek.
Mr. Pietraszek was employed as a research and development coordinator with Uniroyal Tire & Rubber for 33 years prior to his retirement. He was a consultant for Noone Shoe Corp in Taunton in development for golf shoes and held several patents in golf ball design. Thaddeus was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in W.W. II on the U.S.S. Indiana. He received a B.S. from the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy where he was Class President and received a Master’s degree in Education from Bridgewater State University.
He was a member of the Jacee’s in E. Providence, RI as well as Junior Achievement. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends on the water in Barrington, RI. He was an avid reader and ice hockey player in his youth.
Survivors include his daughter: Joan Hopf and her husband Richard G. of Goffstown, NH, 2 Sisters: Helen G. Pietraszek and Genevieve A. Pietraszek both of Tiverton, RI, a granddaughter: Melissa Hopf of Manchester, NH.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, at 9 AM from the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus’ Church, Rockland Street, Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 – 7 PM.
