Obituary

E. Norman Lacroix, 92, of Berlin, NH, passed away on Wednesday evening May 20, 2015 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Berlin on September 22, 1922 the son of Adolphe and Cordelia (Brideau) Lacroix and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. He graduated from Berlin High and served in the US Navy during World War II. Norman had been employed by his father at the Filling Station on Pleasant Street , later worked for General Electric and lastly for the City of Berlin Fire Department, retiring as Fire Chief in 1982. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the White Mountain Post # 2520 VFW, the Berlin-Coos Historical Society, the Holiday Center and Senior Meals. He also volunteered at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital, served on the board of the Golden Age Club, was a member of the Board of Trustees of the NH Retirement System, was an officer in the State Association, was President of the Union for 6 years and was a certified fire fighter instructor.

Family includes his wife of 66 years Lorraine (Valliere) Lacroix of Berlin, NH; daughters Pamela Lamson and husband Larry of Essex Jct., VT and Suzanne Evans and husband William of Satsuma, AL; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister Lorraine Cummings of Spokane, WA ; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave. , Berlin on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM . In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Good Shepherd Parish, PO Box 570, Berlin, NH, 03570 or to the Holiday Center, 27 Green Square, Berlin, NH, 03570.
