Obituary

NATICK: Dorothy Gertrude (Bailey) Peluso, of Natick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham.

She was born on September 13, 1930, to the late Philip and Mabel (Holder) Bailey in Ridley Park, PA. Dot graduated from Mass Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Boston and spent most of her career at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick as a maternity nurse and nurse manager.

Dot lived in Medfield, for many years, raising her family and singing with many choral societies. She performed in several Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, playing the lead in most. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Music was her passion.

In 1976, she married Domenic Peluso. They spent much of their free time in Bourne where they own a home. Their combined families visited often through the years. Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren love the Cape, thanks to Dot and Dom. They also made many trips to Florida to visit friends and family.

Dot is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Domenic; her brother Philip Bailey of Great Falls, MT; her children Pamela and James Shaw, of Brookline, NH, and Kenneth and Loretta Fader of Redington Shores, FL; her step-children, Charlene Obucina of West Palm Beach, FL, Michele and Kevin Donahue of Burlington, VT, and Carla and Kenton Nielsen of Goffstown, NH; and her grandchildren, Vanessa Burrill, Andrea Ireland, Dawn Fader, Philip Ireland, Scott Fader, Stacy Crawford, Ian Donahue, and Maria Donahue. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren whom she adored, and several nieces and nephews. Dot followed all of their antics on Facebook.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date with family and close friends. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210. Arrangements are with John Everett & Sons, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.
