Obituary

Francis P. “Mike” Lynch passed away on May 19, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 88 years old.

Mike was a longtime resident of Medford. He was a United States Navy Veteran during World War II on the USS Vincennes and retired longtime employee for Delta Airlines. Mike's patriotism prompted him to work tirelessly on Medford's WWII Memorial Wall and on procuring donations to raise several US flags in highly visible locations. Each November, Mike instructed Medford High School history students about the four Lynch brothers' military service during WWII.

Mike was the beloved husband of the late Angelina (Brienzo) Lynch. He was the son of the late James and Mary (Charbonnier) Lynch. Mike was the loving father of Kathleen Trider and her husband Keith of Winchester, Michael Lynch of Amesbury, and Kevin Lynch of Stoneham. He was the brother of Joan Carney of Medford and the late James, William, and Joseph Lynch. Mike was the cherished grandpa of John, Krista, Brendan, and the late Jay. He was the adoring great grandfather of James, Gianna, Angelina, Carissa, Lacey, Liam, Ryan, and Anna.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday May 22nd at 9:00a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday May 21st from 4-8p.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
