Mr. Francesco Cataldo, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Virginia (Gensale) Cataldo, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, May 17, 2015. He was 87 years old.
Born in Italy, he was the beloved son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Gensale) Cataldo.
He was a devoted father and kind friend, loved by all. In his spare time, Mr. Cataldo was an avid gardener, excellent craftsman and enthusiastic winemaker.
He is survived by his loving children; Giovanni Cataldo, Mario Cataldo, Franco Cataldo, Romana Ciampolillo, Sylvana Householder, Lidia Henderson, Anna Cataldo, Maria Cataldo, and their spouses, siblings; Pasqualina DiPrizio, Carmela Cataldo, Giovanni Cataldo, Antonio Cataldo, Generoso Cataldo, Maria Barker, Giulia Cataldo, Virginia D’Amore, Assunta Murphy and Vincenzo Cataldo, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 4 to 8 PM. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
