Carmen L. Mercado Ortiz of Framingham passed away at her home at the age of seventy-eight surrounded by her caring family.
Born in Puerto Rico on July 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Mercado and Maria Isabel Rivera. Carmen came to the United States twenty years ago and settled in Framingham where she raised her family.
She was the devoted wife of the late Clemente Quinones and the loving mother of Miguel Quinones and his wife Alba, Maria Lind and her husband Carl, Carmen Quinones and the late Felipe and John Quinones.
Cherished grandmother of Damian Flores, Moises Flores, Carmen Lidia Wood, Maria de los Angeles Botler, Nelicia Tran, Jose Carrillo, Angelica Carrillo, Angel Luis Castro, Jose Luis Castro, Jackeline Sanches, Lorgia McNeil, Felipe Quinones and Pablo Quinones.
Great grandmother of Diamarisa Flores, Zian Flores, Exavier Flores, Jonathan Butler, Julieta Wood, Robert Wood, Ezequiel Castro, Adrian Carrillo, Nerian Jovania McNeil, Emma Quinones and Felipe Quinones, Jr.
Sister of Helen Rivera, Hermelinda Rivera and Maria Rivera. Caring aunt of Yarixa Escobar, Carlos Francisco Escobar, Marizabel Rivera, Karla Rivera, Juan Rosario, Maria del Rosario and Mariestela Rosario.
Carmen was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church of Framingham and enjoyed her kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren and cooking, cleaning and doing crossword puzzles.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from 4:00-7:00PM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
A graveside service will be held in Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St., Framingham on Wednesday, May 20th at 10:00AM.
