Obituary

TAUNTON – Edwin M. Rose of Taunton, husband of the late Norma (Leonard) Rose, died at Morton Hospital on May 16, 2015 following a brief illness.
He was 89.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Rose) Rose. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Taunton and attended Taunton Schools.
A US Navy Veteran of WW II, he served on the USS Astoria.
He was employed by the former Haskon Co. of Taunton for over forty years.
A longtime member of the Italian Social Club, Eddie enjoyed playing bocce and socializing with his many dear friends.
He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Knowles and her husband Stephen of East Freetown and Joyce Rose of Taunton; two brothers, Francis Rose of Bourne and J. David Rose of Taunton; a sister, Evelyn Terry of Taunton; three grandchildren, Christopher Knowles of New Bedford, Kevin Knowles of Boston and Shane Rose of CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Bruce Rose and the brother of the late John Rose and Mary Terra.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, May 20th at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 19th from 4 to 7 p.m.
