Ferenc “Frankie” James Turba, 45, of Fitchburg, passed away Friday, May 15th, 2015 after a brief illness at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
Frankie was raised in Hudson, Massachusetts and was very proud of his Hungarian heritage. He studied at UMass Amherst, Fitchburg State University and Mount Wachusett Community College. An ordained minister, he also worked for Digital Equipment, many restaurants, the Salvation Army, and most recently Lowes.
Frankie was a great cook, a talented singer, and an avid Patriots fan. He had a knack for computers and a keen eye for antiquing or “picking" and would often marry these two talents as a seller on eBay. He also enjoyed gardening and hiking with his daughter Ilona. Frankie’s wry sense of humor and passionate presence will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.
Frankie was predeceased by his father, Ferenc Turba in 2007, and his brother Joseph Cronin in 2011.
He leaves his loving wife of 13 years Autumn Turba and daughter Ilona of Fitchburg; his parents Jean and John Greska of Falmouth, MA; mother-in-law Patti Eggart Kastner of Murrieta CA; father-in-law Steve Kastner of San Diego CA; sisters Theresa Liljegren and her husband Jim of Lunenburg, MA and Linda Turba-Reuss and her husband Steve of Lunenburg, MA and Pam Sanchez and her husband Eucario of Valrico, FL; brother Mick Greska and his wife Lisa of New Port Richey, FL; sister-in-laws Cheryl Cronin of Boston and Jennifer Teal Kastner of Los Angelos, CA and nieces and nephews Joseph Cronin, Taylor Liljegren, Alex Reuss, Drew Greska, Samantha Pimentel, Sophia Reuss, and Selena Sanchez.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, May 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a service and celebration of Frankie’s Life at 7:00 p.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com). Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
