Edmund W. "Ted" Shaw, Jr.

NATICK: Edmund Wellington Shaw Jr. died peacefully on May 12, 2015, at MetroWest Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. Known as Ted, he was born on June 21, 1939, in Framingham.
Ted graduated from Framingham High School in 1957 and attended Northeastern University. He married Roberta Boesenberg of Wayland on June 19, 1965. They lived in Natick for most of their 50 years of marriage.
Ted lived in Natick and worked as an Assistant Manager of Lavin’s Liquors in Wayland for 25 years. From 1990-1998, he lived in Winter Springs, Florida and was a bank teller for Bank of America. Upon returning to Massachusetts in 1998, he was a bank teller at TD Bank in Framingham until his retirement in 2010. He was known as “Teller Ted” and had a loyal customer base who waited patiently for him to help them. His natural compassion and calm manner resulted in him easily establishing personal connections.
Ted was a kind, gentle and hardworking man. He was an avid Red Sox and Boston sports fan and was always happy to talk about sports. His loyalty and love for his family were well known.
Besides his wife, Roberta Shaw, he leaves two daughters, Lisa (Shaw) Brucken and her husband, Rowly Brucken of Northfield, VT and Andrea (Shaw) Staley and her wife, Tonia Staley of Mount Holly, VT. He was proud of his six grandchildren—Grace, Angel, Adam, Destiny, Katherine and Caroline.
He also leaves five siblings. Merrill Cragin of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Sally Chaulk and husband Kenneth of Needham; Frank (Ted) Bernard and wife Donna of Athens, OH; George Bernard and wife Eileen of Westerville, OH; Arthur (Woody) Bernard and wife Mary of Waltham; sister-in-law Frieda (Boesenberg) Hunter of South Berwick, ME. He also has an extended network of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and a great grandnephew.
Ted is predeceased by his mother, Barbara (Spooner) Shaw Bernard, sister-in-law Dorothy (Boesenberg) Flieger; brothers-in-law Arthur E. Flieger and Paul S. Hunter and nephew Robert J. Hunter. He is the son of Edmund W. Shaw of Westborough.
Visitations will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Ted’s funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Shaw family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
