Guiomar (Sousa) Ponte, age 85, of Fall River, passed away on Monday May 11, 2015. Born in Alem Capelas São Miguel, A?ores she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Alice (Aguiar) Sousa, and wife of the late Dinis M. Ponte. Guiomar was a homemaker, a past member of the St. Michael’s Church Choir, and the Our Lady of Fatima Organization of St. Michael’s Church.
She is survived by her children; Dolores Frias, Olga Cabral, Gloriana Botelho, Ramiro Ponte, Rosa Resendes, Dora Costa, Dinis Ponte, João Ponte, José Ponte, Bella Woodall, and Belarmino Ponte, siblings; Alice, Fernanda, Laudalina, and Manuel, 33 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Ricardo and Eugenia Ponte, and sister of the late Conceicão and Geraldo.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on SUNDAY from 3-7 P.M
