Maureen E. Calkins 47, of Dover and formerly of Natick died Thursday May 7 2015 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
She was the wife of Gary W. Leshinski sharing 20 years of marriage. Her two children, Nick and Olivia Leshinski were precious and deeply loved by her.
She was born in 1967, the daughter of Janice F. Calkins (Fleming) and the late Peter J. Calkins.
Maureen earned her undergraduate degree from Brandies University in 1989 and her law degree from Suffolk Law School in 1994.
Ms. Calkins was a Real Estate Attorney operating her own practice in Dedham since 2004. Maureen attended the Natick School system and was a graduate of Natick High School class of 1985.
Maureen is also survived by two brothers Burt Calkins of CO, Mark Calkins of Framingham, her father and mother in law James and Marilou Leshinski of Natick and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Maureen used her skills, education and abundance of compassion to make this world a better place to live in. She was a crusader for many of the passions that she held dear, many of which revolved around the beauty of nature and its animals. Her favorite charity was the Animal Rescue League. She felt each dog, cat, rabbit, etc. deserved a happy home.
In liew of flowers she would like donations to be made to the Animal Rescue League.
A celebration of life will be observed in the near future. Her burial will be private.
