Freetown – Mariana “Servia” da Cruz Mano Carramona, age 99 of E. Freetown, formerly of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at her daughter’s home.
She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Carramona.
Mrs. Carramona was born in Praia de Buarcos, Figueira da Foz, Portugal and, after moving to this country, resided in Gloucester and New Bedford. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked in that industry until the birth of her daughter. She was an avid reader which is amazing in itself because she taught herself to read in English. Her tremendous sense of humor and spirited nature contributed to her long life.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Mary Carramona and her partner Rosemary LeBlanc, grandpuppy (Sasha), grandkitty (Tobi), a nephew, Joao da Silva (Fatima), godchild, Karen da Silva, godchild, Ruy Cardoso and his sister, Rossi Kane, and close friends: Roselinda Lemos, Luisette Lemos and Jeanne Boudreau.
She was the daughter of the late Maria Mamede Mano and Luis Mano. She was the sister of the late Joaquim Mano, Maria da Conceicao Mano and Rosa Mano.

Mrs. Carramona’s funeral will be Wednesday, May 13 beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
