Obituary

Sebring, FL – Eldric “Al” Gallant, 101, died on March 20, 2015 and his wife Rose (Gaumond) Gallant, 92, died on March 10, 2013 in Sebring, FL.

Mr. & Mrs. Gallant owned and operated Arrow Cleaners for many years in Worcester before moving to Florida in 1992. They both lead an active life and were avid Bunco players. Al also enjoyed playing golf, pool and candlepin bowling. Rose volunteered her time for New Hope and also for the Florida State College for 12 years in the theater program.

Al was born, son of the late John and Lena (Arsenault) Gallant. He is also predeceased by two brothers, Cecil and Seymour Gallant. Mr. Gallant was a proud World War II veteran and served in Normandy with the Merchant Marines.

Rose was born, daughter of the late, Edward and Bertha (Bishop) Gaumond and is predeceased by her 3 sisters, Bertha Deberadinis, Marion Comptois and Dorothy Lamarche.

Mr. & Mrs. Gallant are also predeceased by their son, Thomas Dunlop. They are survived by Rose’s sister, Barbara Akerson of Sebring, FL; a daughter in law, Elizabeth Dunlop of Rutland; 2 grandchildren, Deb Deberadinis of Worcester and Nancy White of Webster; Al’s sister in law, Phyllis Gallant of Auburn and many nephews and nieces.

There interment will take place on Wednesday, May 13th at 11:30 in Worcester County Memorial Park 217 Richards Ave. Paxton. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is directing arrangements.
