Gerald Leone, 86 of Methuen passed away on May 2, 2015 at Sutton Hill Center in North Andover after a brief illness. Gerald was born in Lawrence and was a long time resident of Methuen.
Gerald worked at his Dad’s oil business, J.A. Leone and Sons in Lawrence for over 20 years. Most recently until his illness, Gerald worked at the Old Navy Store at the Loop in Methuen for twelve years. Gerald took much joy and pride in working for Old Navy, a job he truly loved.
Gerald enjoyed his family who always got together every week. In his early years, he had a great talent drawing and sketching newspaper ads for Bea’s Sandwich Shop. His real passion was spending every day on his ham radio, corresponding with other operators. He also spent many happy hours at Heav’nly Donuts on Merrimack St. in Methuen.
Gerald leaves behind his brother Thomas A. Leone of Lawrence, and his sister, Mary Lyons Johns of Newburyport. He is pre-deceased by his parents Joseph A. Sr. and Celeste M. Leone, sister Carmella S. Mararian, brothers John Leone Sr. and Joseph A. Leone Jr. Gerald also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
