Obituary

Jennie M. (Coppa) Zampelli, 89, a resident of Lawrence, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lawrence, Jennie was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She had worked for 40 years in the local garment industry for companies such as Papparella, Bronzetti and Ralph Lauren-Polo. Jennie was an active member of the Holy Rosary-Corpus Christi Church in Lawrence as well as a member of the St. Rita's Sodality. A devout Catholic, Jennie embodied the principles of her Christian faith. She was kind, generous and loving-not only to her family and friends-but to all those in need.
The daughter of the late Michelangelo and Nunziata (DiPietro) Coppa, family members include her husband of 64 years, Alfred J. Zampelli; sons, Ernest M. Zampelli and his wife Linda of Oella, Md. and Rev. Michael A. Zampelli, SJ of Santa Clara, Calif.; grandchildren, Joseph E. Zampelli and his wife, Hannah of Odenton, Md., and Rachel Jackson and her husband, Mercer of Harpers Ferry, WV, her great-grandson, Kellan William Zampelli, as well as many very loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Jennie was predeceased by her beloved sisters, Carmela and her husband, Charles Di Stefano and Lucy and her husband, Armand Aufiero.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kind and loving care for Jennie.A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Entombment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum, also in Lawrence. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be made in Jennie's name to the St. Rita's Sodality in care of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence, MA 01840.
