Jacqueline A.”Jacqui ”(Reckord) Durant, 75, of Abington, passed away on Friday April 24th at home. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to John A. Durant.
She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy (Reed) Reckord. She was a graduate of Whitman High School and received her associate degree in Psychology at Massasoit College.
Jacqui worked in the customer service department at the Edison Company and was also a special need aide at the Frolio School in Abington for many years. She was a Hospice volunteer, a massage therapist and a church counter at St. Bridget Church in Abington.
Jacqui enjoyed yoga, playing poker “with the girls”, bible studies reading great books, loved the beach, working in her garden and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Deborah McKenna and her husband Richard and their children, Jeffery and Joshua of Hanson, Todd Durant and his wife Tracie and their children Brittany, Kelsey and Abigail of NH and Cynthia Durant of Lexington, her sisters, Donna Chase of OH and Candice Fuller of VA.
Her memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 2nd at 11:00AM in the St. Bridget Church, Abington, at the family’s request all other service are omitted.
