DEVER, Rose (Salloom) of Dedham, formally of Norwood passed away peacefully April 23 surrounded by her children at the age of 93. Beloved Mother of Cheryl Sullivan, Valerie Dever and Earnest Dever III. Dear sister of Naifee Maclachlan and the late Annie Gould, Marion O’Connell, and Nasom Salloom. Cherished and so loved Sithoo to Christopher Sullivan, Thomas Dever, Ashley Dever and Holly Dever. Also survived by the nieces and late nephew from the Gould family. She loved working at the Boston School Department for over 40 years and served as President of the SEIU Local 888 Administrative Guild and was a true leader. Rose was an avid Bingo player and also loved taking trips to Foxwoods with the Seniors. Rose was passionate about her family and made many sacrifices as a single parent to ensure they all had everything they wanted over herself. She always worked two jobs. Even though money was very tight, when Bimbo the Beagle was found hiding out in a bedroom he was a welcome addition in the Dever household and to this day Rose still missed this pup. She only wanted the best life for her children and they knew this. Not one day will go by that she will not be missed by all who knew and loved her especially her children.
Funeral Service in the George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St., Dedham on Wednesday April 29th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday April 28th from 5-8pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
