Charles P. Callahan Sr., age 87, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away peacefully April 22, 2015 at the Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester, following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (McMann). Born in Woburn he was one of five children of the late William P. and Elizabeth (Mulhern) Callahan.

Charlie was raised and educated in Woburn. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII serving with the Navy Seabees from 1944 to 1946. Charlie was a talented craftsman and owned and operated the William P. Callahan Plumbing Co. that was started by his father and today has its fourth generation of family working in the trade. Charlie possessed a strong work ethic and a gifted mind that could recall work he had done in any home or business that he had serviced in years past. When not working, Charlie enjoyed spending time in Porter, Maine with his family at their second home. He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. Every year he looked forward to fishing opening day on Horn Pond with his good friend Pete O'Brien. Together the two built quite a reputation for their fishing talent and many people would wait to see how they made out on opening day at the pond.

Charlie is survived by his devoted children, Maureen Wickwire and her husband Doug, Charles P. Callahan Jr. and his wife Janet, Harry Callahan and his wife Paula, Bob Callahan and loving companion Beth Lynch, all of Woburn, and Mary Soloski and her husband Terry of Billerica.
