Obituary

REMSBERG, Stanley Ray, 74, formerly of Brookline, passed away on April 18. Born in Iola, Kansas, he was the son of the late Harlan and Marguerite (Ridgeway) Remsberg. He graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University, Washington DC, received his Masters in History at Harvard and his Ph.D with honors from the University of Wisconsin. He studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was an Instructor and Assistant professor of History at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and Director, Office of Administration, for the College of Professional Studies. He was the Assistant Director for the American Jewish Historical Society, Brandeis Campus, Waltham MA.

He is survived by his deeply loved wife of 44 years, Catherine (Emm).  He is also survived by his brother, Stephen (Cheryl) of New Orleans, nieces Loren Tarrant, St Petersburg, FL and Erica Brasher and great nephew Remmy Brasher, New Orleans, cousin Pamela (James) Pool, Houston, sister-in-law Martha Dannenhauer, niece Sarah Richards, Rome, NY, and life-long friends John and Judy Day, Chuck Gilbert, Stan Armington, David Tuerck, Rev. Steve Silver, Pat Kahalil, Gay Tuerck, Bernard and Dolly Wax, and many others.

Interment will be in El Dorado Kansas with a memorial service in Boston at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Stan to the Power & Promise Fund for Student Aid, The George Washington University, 2033 K St., NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20052, or the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601. Stan was a Gentleman and a gentle man. He was and always will be deeply loved.
