Obituary

Richard P. LaFlamme, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle went home to be with his Lord on Sunday April 19, 2015. He was the loving husband of Lucille Madelaine (Dulac) LaFlamme. He was united in marriage to the love of his life on February 14, 1953 at Precious Blood Church.
Richard was born on July 21, 1930 in South Bellingham, MA, a son of the late Frank Henry Sr. and Beatrice Emma (Comire) LaFlamme. He attended Woonsocket High School and graduated from Bryant College.
Mr. LaFlamme proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951- 1954. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal.
Richard worked for the City of Providence, was the director for Municipal Corporate Data Processing Systems (MCDPS), and founded his own company Municipal Computer Facility, Inc. Retiring in 1990, he enjoyed dividing his time between Boca Raton, FL and Lincoln, RI.
Richard’s hobbies included bowling, cards, chess, cribbage, dancing and spending quality time raising his children and especially spoiling his grandchildren. He spent the last 15 years at St. Antoine Residence and delighted in teasing his wonderful extended family there with his ready wit and charm. Richard will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by two sons Michael LaFlamme (Kate) of North Smithfield, David LaFlamme (Susan) of Elkton VA, and a daughter Jerilyn Wilner (George) of Johnston. He was the brother of Frank LaFlamme Jr. and brother-in-law of Pauline (Robert) Lemoine and Kathleen (Lawrence) LaFlamme. He is also survived by nine grandchildren Richard (Michelle), Ryan and Brittany LaFlamme, Kyle and Justin Wilner, Samantha Turner, Jeffrey, Rebecca and Nicole LaFlamme, two great-grandchildren Aingeal Turner and Abigail LaFlamme, five nieces and four nephews. He was the brother of the late Lawrence, Eugene, Kathleen and Evelyn LaFlamme and brother-in- law of the late Leone LaFlamme and Robert Lemoine.
His funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. ln lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Antoine Residence 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield, RI. 02896.
