HAVERHILL: Ruth E. (Sosinsky) Brigandi, 86, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Merrimack Valley Hospice House following an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Emanuel C. Brigandi who died in 2013.
Born in Allston on October 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (McCarthy) Sosinsky. She had resided in Somerville for many years before moving to Haverhill fifteen years ago.
Ruth was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the former Central Hospital in Somerville for many years before her retirement in 1991. Ruth took great pride in spending time with her loving grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, David Brigandi and his wife, Jerri, Martha Volovick and her husband, Ken, Joseph Brigandi and his wife, Hannah and Ruthie Aylward and seven grandchildren, Alyse, Alex, Michael, Nikki, Zoe, Ollie and Audra. She was also predeceased by her son, John Brigandi, son-in-law, Richard Aylward and her brother, Frank Sosinsky. “Ta-Daa”
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 10:30 – 12 noon with a service to follow at noon. Interment will be held in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
