Obituary

WORCESTER-Panteles “Pen” Demis, 87, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home on Friday, April 17, 2015. He was born in Llongos, Albania, son of the late Thomas and Theodora (Dangas) Demis. He was a graduate of Classical High School and Becker Jr. College and served in the U S Navy during World War II.

Pen owned and operated Trumbull Square Luncheon in Worcester for many years. He enjoyed reading, poetry, and politics. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and served on its Board of Directors. He was a member of the Order of AHEPA and the Worcester Senior Center.

Pen is survived by a brother Arthur and his wife Susan Demis, of Jensen Beach, Fl; a sister Sophie Demis of Port St. Lucie, FL; a nephew Thomas A. Demis, of Worcester; a niece Lisa (David) Morris and family, of Boca Raton, Fl; and his long-time companion Jean Bourgeois of Worcester.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 8th, at 10:00 AM at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St., Worcester, MA 01609. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are being directed by Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.

It is requested that flowers be omitted and any contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Trinity Nursing Home, 300 Barber Ave, Worcester, MA 01606, or to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund, 102 Russell St., Worcester, MA 01609.
