Ann P. Piana (Collins) of Canton passed away Friday April 17th at the Hellenic Nursing Home after a prolonged illness. She was a lifelong resident of Canton who was born 84 years ago to Edward and Anne (Gill) Collins. Ann attended St. John’s Grammar School. She graduated from Canton High School in the Class of 1948 and then went on to Boston University. She was an active member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club. For more than a decade she assisted her husband in the production of the Korean War Veterans of MA quarterly newsletter. She and her husband enjoyed many trips to Europ Beloved wife of 60 years of Edward R. Mother of James E. and his wife Diane of Raynham, Dr. Robert N. and his wife Cynthia of Nashville, TN and Stephen A. and his wife Lynn of Canton. Grandmother of Danielle, Christine, Mark, Lauren, Matthew, Michael and Kevin Piana. Sister of Mary Cook of Canton and the late John Collins. Also survived by her beloved niece Margaret Rubenacker and her husband Larry and their two children Anna and Joey of Canton and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Canton Monday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. John School Foundation Box 604 Canton, MA 02021.
