Mildred E. (McGowan) (Cosgrove) Baust, age 90, of Brockton, died April 17, 2015, at her daughter’s home following a period of failing health. Mildred was the wife of the late Richard Cosgrove and Walter Baust. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Stack) McGowan. She had been employed as a Dental Assistant by Dr. John Moynihan in Brockton. Mildred loved her family, family gatherings, and had a special bond with her grandchildren Laura and David. Mildred enjoyed bowling and was a former member of a bowling league in Lakeville. She also enjoyed the ocean, swimming, movies and travel. She was a longtime communicant of Christ the King Parish and while living in South Easton for ten years, was a communicant of Holy Cross Parish.
Mildred is survived by two daughters Shirley Cosgrove of Brockton and Nancy Hadway and her husband Lee of Falmouth; two grandchildren Laura Warren of Mansfield and David Lytkowski of Alexandria, VA; and two great granddaughters Ella and Sarah Lytkowski of Alexandria, VA. She was the sister of the late M. Esther Tashjian, Charles and William McGowan, Anne Wright, John and Frederick McGowan, Florence Nicholson and Robert McGowan.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-4pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
