C. Kenneth Whitaker
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, April 16, 2015, Mr. C. Kenneth Whitaker, 79, husband of 48 years to Mrs. Kate N. Whitaker
Mr. Whitaker was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. He was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church, and was a member of the Harold Smith Sunday School class. He was a former member of the Augusta Jaycees. Mr. Whitaker worked as the Assistant Manager for Belk Department Store in Daniel Village and in North Augusta. He retired from H&R Block as the District Manager. He served in the Georgia National Guard for 13 years.
Family members in addition to his wife include sons: Warren Whitaker, Darrell Moore and Kent Whitaker (Dana); daughters: Wendy Nelms (Keith) and Amy Tapley (Ray); sister: Sandra Woytke (Don); and grandchildren: Kevin Whitaker, Lastenia Scaggs, Katelin Tapley, Sage Moore, Cody Moore, Tucker Whitaker, Abby Tapley, and Tyson Whitaker. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Elizabeth Whitaker.
A funeral service will be Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Barry Clanton and Rev. Todd Wiggins officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
